Mature brick-red. This is all about savoury, earthy flavours and aromas as the flush of primary fruit has passed, as you would expect. Wet earth, leaf litter and spiced baked plum flow across the palate with fine-grained, soft tannins adding shape and texture. And it has length and persistence too. Interesting to note this was made without any new oak. A very good call, as it certainly didn’t need it. Good mature drinking that is ready now. DB 13.1% alc.
