The Reserve has the dials all turned up that little bit further. Higher ripeness, longer on skins (21 days), and more new oak (40%) for a longer maturation (18 months). The fruit here can obviously take it too. In some ways it seems more elegant and refined than the standard shiraz. Layers of fresh red and black fruit, the spicy/cedary oak evident but not dominant, depth, weight and length to burn. DB 14% alc.
