A warm, compressed growing season reduced volume, and the fruit yielded was incredibly concentrated. And it shows. A lick of pungent flintiness segues almost immediately to a melody of stone fruit flavours and a creamy core of praline to vanilla pod oak scents, nestled into the fray. Mid-weighted and palate-staining of intensity, yet there is nothing blousey about it. With zero pH adjustments, it is dutifully fresh, long and finely poised between imminent pleasure and the potential for greater complexity across a short-term cellaring window. A striking wine.
