I like this. A whiff of gunflint mineral reduction soon disperses to reveal ripe apricot, nectarine and white peach notes. The thrust of fruit and parry of nicely layered oak is impressive. Nothing is exaggerated: neither on the heavy side, nor on the side of abstemiousness. This plays the contemporary card of mineral energy, while appeasing the crowd in need of flavour and nourishment.
