Among the better expressions of this capricious variety tasted thus far. Why? As the wine opens, there is something inherently juicy, rich and aptly ripe about it. Medium of feel, but far fuller in reality, with the oak glossing dark cherry notes with ample vanilla pod scents and cedar tannic grip. Works well. Long, dense, poised and nicely pliant. NG 14.5% alc.
What makes this wine ideal for right now?
Grown on a vineyard to the north of the small town of Willunga, this is a great food wine. It’s slightly lighter in style, which works as we head into the warmer months, and shows dark cherries, raspberries and sandalwood. The palate has luscious cherry flavours,delicate spice and delicious soft tannins.
