There’s a captivating purity to this beautifully medium-weight wine, with lingering cherry cola-esque aromas and flavours. An even coat of tannins is balanced by prominent fruit. A delicious drink, and one of the higher achievers in this class.

What makes this wine ideal for right now?

Montepulciano, or Monte as we fondly refer to it, is a rustic, European-style wine, with savoury tannins and black olive and dark cherry fruit characters. It’s medium in weight with great structure and is perfect for warm summer days, best served with food. There’s an umami element that always gets you going back for another sip.
