Mewstone Wines

D’ENTRECASTEAUX CHANNEL, TASMANIA

Brothers Matthew and Jonathan Hughes established Mewstone Vineyard on the D’Entrecasteaux Channel in the tiny hamlet of Flowerpot. We create expressive single-site wines with minimum intervention in the winery. The 3.5 hectare vineyard is a former cherry orchard and mainly planted with pinot noir, chardonnay and riesling. Along with Mewstone, we also produce Hughes&Hughes wines from other Tasmanian sites. This allows Jonny some more winemaking creativity, which we love to share at cellar door.
