German rieslings were always my choice at (Otherness owner Grant Dickson’s) FermentAsian restaurant, so no surprise that he’s produced a stunning off-dry style himself. Made by John Hughes at Rieslingfreak, the tension of Tamar acidity is perfectly countered with residual sweetness. Spicy lime, wild lemon and crunchy Granny Smith apple fruit holds impressive drive and persistence. Tantalising now, it will live for decades. TS 9.4% alc.
