2017 WOODY NOOK GALLAGHER’S CHOICE MARGARET RIVER CABERNET SAUVIGNON

This is rich (almost opulent?) and chocolatey rather than purely driven by cassis. The oak has been largely absorbed by the fruit; what remains through the finish will no doubt be mopped up in time as well. Bitter cocoa, star anise, mulberry, resinous oak, exotic spice and very little hint of the cool year that birthed it. Powerfully structured and with unfurling length. A wine for the cellar. EL 14.5% alc.
