Dandelion Vineyards

MULTI REGIONAL, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Dandelion Vineyards was established in 2007. Elena Brooks creates a range of wines across South Australia’s premium regions: Adelaide Hills, Eden Valley, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and the Fleurieu Peninsula. Elena spends a lot of time in the vineyard, and believes the winemaker must be respectful of vineyard and region.

Over three years ago we acquired Firehawk Farm, a 60-acre property perched atop an ancient ridge overlooking McLaren Vale, the Willunga Escarpment and the Gulf St Vincent. Below the surface there is limestone and ironstone. The 40 acres under vine include grenache, shiraz and petite sirah, and this vineyard is biodynamically run. This year, we are building our cellar door on this property, opening in early 2022.

The first two wines are from our biodynamic Firehawk Farm vineyard, and the latest additions. The 2019 Faraway Tree and Moonrise Kingdom are great reds for summer, pairing perfectly with steak and fresh greens. This recipe is on our website. Our Lionheart is our quintessential Barossa shiraz – the wine everyone returns to.
