A producer that turned my head last vintage and continues to rise to the crème of the Vale. Everything delicious! As good as warm-climate maritime cab gets. A benchmark cabernet for the region. Sumptuous, without being heavy. Ripe, without being sweet. Savoury, sans greenery. A long cylinder of tannins, alloyed, finely mettled and impeccably extracted. With courage. Blackcurrant, sage, saltbush, green olive and a creamy mocha core, in the best sense. Lovely drinking. Beautifully crafted. NG 14.5% alc.

This superb expression of single-vineyard McLaren Vale cabernet sauvignon will reward careful cellaring with an abundance of silky, mouth-coating fine-grained tannins and amazing depth of flavour from our 65-year-old vines on Ingoldby Road. It’ll peak at around 10 years in the cellar, in 2029–2030.
