2020 VITULUS COONAWARRA SHIRAZ

On skins for 15 days, matured for 18 months in a combination of French and American oak. Gorgeous. Oak is evident, but the fruit has so much exuberant concentration that it hardly matters. This is a deeply satisfying rendition of Coonawarra shiraz. The brightness of the fruit is almost addictive, and very attractive. Hedonistic, but classy. EL 14.5% alc.

The 2020 Coonawarra vintage provided a selection of excellent wines from the original Reschke vineyard, with the Vitulus’ intense fruit concentration and strong tannin profile giving rise to a wine with exceptional cellaring potential. Superb drinking from now to 2031.
