2020 HEIRLOOM MCLAREN VALE SHIRAZ

The deep – verging on opaque – colour rings a bell warning of the arrival of an exotic full-bodied shiraz, arguing the toss on varietal expression (unctuous blackberry and licorice) and sense of place (dark chocolate) with ripe, gently chewy tannins and a benison of oak. JH 14.5% alc.

What will drinkers be rewarded with if they put this wine in their cellar? And at what point do you believe this wine will be at its peak for drinking?

Primary berry and plum notes will evolve into chocolate, fennel and bay leaf notes with bright acidity and fruit still driving the palate. One to enjoy now or age for up to 15 years. At each stage of cellaring this wine will deliver varietal purity.
