2020 WINDANCE GLEN VALLEY SHIRAZ

- Billie & Tyke Wheatley

Fruit from Yallingup, matured for 14 months in a combination of French and American oak (35% new). Inky, vibrant and succulent. This is a bit of a belter, with layers of raspberry tart, blackberry bramble, blueberries, summer fig, blood orange and loads of spice (aniseed, star anise, Szechuan peppercorn and more). The little brother to this wine – the Windance Shiraz – was awarded 4 gold medals at wine shows around the country: this is that wine, just bigger, with more volume and more flavour. It’s an opulent wine. EL 14% alc.

$42 / 2029

What’s special about this wine, and when do you believe it will be at its peak for drinking?

This wine showcases the fruit quality of the fabulous vintage that was 2020 in Margaret River. It is drinking beautifully now, however the intense blackcurrant and blackberry, as well as hints of vanilla and spice, will have this wine singing in three to four years.
