2021 CALCANNIA CLARE VALLEY SANGIOVESE

- Mark Robinson

Matured for 8 months in French and American oak. Concentrated, black and brooding, with dense, silky tannins and poignant purple fruit. There is buoyancy in the fruit, despite the river of texture that flows through the mouth. The back palate is really moreish. A lot going on and it’s all good. EL 15% alc.

$28 / 2029

What will drinkers be rewarded with if they put this wine in their cellar? And at what point do you believe this wine will be at its peak for drinking?

At its peak in three to five years, the delicious vibrant fruit will develop some subtle aged characters giving complexity and length. The bright red and black cherry will remain, and the licorice, spice and tobacco flavours will build and add complexity.
