Plenty of character, if not ideal refinement. Yet! The style augurs well for a bright future. Orange peel, pink grapefruit, camphor, ginger and tarte tatin. Prodigious length. Will age very well. Texturally, reminds me of Hochkirch (if they made an off-dry wine), Australia’s most Alsatian of riesling and a personal fave. NG 11% alc.

What is special about this wine?

It captures the pretty expression of this variety but also the depth and detail. It carries a small amount of residual sugar balanced by a tight mineral acidity. It is the first release of this wine under the ChaLou brand, by winemakers Nadja and Steve.
