From Colin Kroehn’s vineyard planted in 1912. Hand picked, whole-bunch pressed, free-run juice cold fermented, high natural acidity and bone dry. Best appreciated in 10 years, by which time the presently closed bouquet will have gained presence, and the palate built to balance the effervescent acidity; the points for then, not now. JH 10.9% alc.
What is special about this wine?
Certainly, the vineyard. I feel I am the custodian of these 110-year old vines and, like Colin Kroehn tended this Eden Valley Riesling vineyard for 66 of his 86 years and then passed it onto me, I will one day pass it onto the next talented winemaker to nurture, and narrate through wine, the story of this unique place.
