2017 MOUNT PLEASANT 1946 VINES LOVEDALE VINEYARD SEMILLON, HUNTER VALLEY

- WINEMAKER Adrian Sparks

$75 / 2037

Hunter Valley semillon is one of the most chameleon-like styles: it can age gracefully and yet be utterly delicious and vibrant in youth. Then there’s this wine that adds depth and complexity too. Requisite linear profile with a line of pure, strong, talc-like acidity gliding right through the palate as do flavours of lemongrass, lemon and mandarin. JF 11.5% alc.

What is special about this wine?

Off vines planted in 1946 by Maurice O’Shea, Lovedale is a special piece of land creating one of the Hunter Valley’s benchmark styles of semillon. Floral, citrusy and detailed, it’s a wine that can come from no other place.
