2021 PURPLE HANDS WINES COLOURS OF THE SOUTH PINOT BLANC, BAROSSA VALLEY

- WINEMAKER Craig Stansborough

$28 / 2026

Pale straw in the glass with inviting aromas of lemon, grapefruit and nashi pear with hints of crushed stone, almond meal, white flowers, crème fraîche and citrus zest. Fantastic composition on the palate, a testimony to some blending/phenolic mastery in the winery, supple and textural yet precise and detailed, finishing dry and savoury with an elegant line in the mouth. Superb stuff. DB 12% alc.

What is special about this wine?

Pinot blanc is not a common variety grown in Australia. The fruit for this single-vineyard wine was grown in the foothills of the Barossa Valley and benefits from the cooler gully breezes that flow down from the hills in the late afternoon and night, helping to maintain freshness. We hand pick, chill overnight and then whole bunch press direct to barrel. This allows the wine to develop complexity and textural elements.
