2020 MONTAGUE ESTATE VIRIBUS RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON, MARGARET RIVER
This has more horsepower and drive than the estate cabernet, perhaps more traditionally structured, in a cabernet sense. The tannins are chewy and ripe and frame the succulent raspberry/pomegranate/cassis core of fruit – there’s shades of salted deli meat and sumac, too. Lashings of exotic spice and leaf: saltbush, bay leaf, tobacco leaf and pink peppercorns. There’s a classicism about this wine...while it’s big and ripe, it has balance and finesse courtesy of the briny acidity. EL 14.5% alc.

Super elegant and graceful, it has been crafted from the oldest plantings on our Home Estate. Just as happy to be poured now as it is to brood in the cellar.
