Bright crimson purple; the colour is indicative of the great vintage, but that’s just the start. This is a perfect rendition of cabernet sauvignon a la Margaret River, with a full-bodied well of cassis/blackcurrant, tapenade and powerful – but appropriate and not grippy – tannins that underwrite the long-term future of this great cabernet. JH 14.5% alc.
Tell us something interesting about this wine? The 2018 Specialist Cabernet is grown exclusively on the Thompson Estate vineyard, located in the heart of the Wilyabrup subregion of Margaret River. Each year all the individual batches of Cabernet are assessed for exceptional quality, with one block always excelling over all others. This is the Specialist Block.
