2020 FISHBONE WINES BLACK LABEL SHIRAZ, MARGARET RIVER

This is very smart, but also very young – it has that exuberance and friskiness that you just know will settle down in a year or so. But it’s good. Layers of licorice, exotic market spice, clove, raspberry and red snakes mingle amicably, the soiree guided by the firm hand of tannins off to the side. Very well handled. EL 14.2% alc.

What is special about the vineyard this wine was made from? The shiraz comes from our vineyard located in the Wilyabrup subregion of Margaret River. This vineyard consistently produces shiraz with strongly spiced blackberry fruit flavours with a peppery scent. In the winery we only mature this wine in barrel for short periods.
