2020 HANDPICKED WINES COLLECTION SHIRAZ, HEATHCOTE

Aged in French puncheons, 30% new, for 11 months. An excellent dark red with a purple tinge; dark plums, bay leaves, sweet cedary oak, baking spices and an earthy ferrous note set the regional and varietal flavours. It’s deep, rich and concentrated, with plush savoury tannins sashaying across the full-bodied palate, yet this doesn’t feel weighty. It’s complex, detailed and refreshing in its own way. JF 14.8% alc.

Tell us something interesting about this wine? Fantastic tannin and structure, offset by lifted fragrance and perfume resulting from fruit grown in opposite ends of the region – one parcel from the classic green stone soils of the eastern side of the Camel Range’s, and another from granite outcrops in Tooborac.
