2020 PARKER COONAWARRA ESTATE KIDMAN BLOCK, COONAWARRA

This is fine, chalky, almost powdery shiraz, with layers and layers of flavour settled on one another, like sheets of tissue paper. The acidity is the thread that binds them, while the fruit flavours are the ink that transcribes the story. This will be even better in a year or 2, once the tale has had time to unfold in the glass; for now it is furled, like a sail in storage. EL 14.5% alc.

Tell us something interesting about this wine? Coonawarra is cabernet country, an accepted fact for good reason. That said, the influence of the Great Southern Ocean creates the perfect cool climate conditions for slow ripening and complex, detailed and elegant shiraz. It’s the perfect place to make the style of shiraz that we feel will define the variety in the coming years.
