Schizophrenia is a common illness that disrupts the functioning of the human mind. It affects up to one in 100 people worldwide, and causes episodes of psychosis involving hallucinations and delusions. Other common symptoms of schizophrenia include problems with low mood and motivation, isolation from family and friends, and feeling cold or emotionless. It is treatable with medication, but there is currently no cure.
