HAPPINESS BEGINS AT FIFTY
A survey of more than 340,000 people published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that overall feelings of wellbeing actually improve as we pass middle age. The US study, which asked participants how they felt about their life, reported that stress peaked at ages of 22 to 25 and decreased after the mid-fifties. Worry stayed relatively stable in those between their twenties and forties, then declined after age 50.
