California, which has the fifth-largest economy in the world, recently legislated to achieve 100 per cent renewable energy by 2045 and that 50 per cent of their electricity will be powered by renewables by 2025.
Many of the world’s most influential companies have committed to 100 per cent renewable power. In the past two years, Apple achieved 100 per cent renewable electricity powering its global facilities across 43 countries. Google also hit its target.
In 2018, the New Zealand Parliament passed a bill that put an end to new offshore oil and gas exploration.
More than two million households in Australia now have rooftop solar. Ten years ago, there were only around 20,000. Queensland is leading the way, with 30 per cent of homes having solar installed.
South Australia is a global leader in renewable energy, generating almost half of its electricity from wind and solar. It is also home to the world’s most powerful battery.
