DRINK TO A GOOD CAUSE

-

Last year, hundreds of locals joined forces for a community grape picking at McLaren Vale’s Inkwell Wines, in support of Vinomofo’s Homeless Grapes Project. Now it’s your chance to sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labour, as the newly released, limited-edition Homeless Grapes Project McLaren Vale Shiraz 2018 ($20) is available from vinomofo.com. The medium-bodied shiraz has lifted aromatics of dark cherry and black fruits, with underlying anise and a touch of dried herb and oak spice. The Vinomofo Homeless Grapes project has already made over $150,000 for those experiencing homelessness in Australia, and 100 per cent of the proceeds from the latest vintage will be donated to Adelaide’s Hutt St Centre. Each day, Hutt St Centre provides meals, social work and support services to over 200 people experiencing homelessness. A six-pack of wine provides a home starter pack for a couple moving from the street to the home. A 12-pack provides safe emergency accommodation for a family in crisis for two nights. vinomofo.com
