DEAD MAN’S DROP

Its name inspired by bushrangers, Stone Pine’s spiced rum showcases Australia’s natural flavours.

Stone Pine Distillery opened in 2008 and is Bathurst’s first micro-distillery. Founder Ian Glen has a particular interest in using native Australian ingredients – such as pink finger lime and lemon myrtle – and keeps processing to a minimum in order to showcase the natural flavours. Dead Man’s Drop Black Spiced Rum ($80) marries barrel-aged rum with orange peel, vanilla and the Australian native flavours of ringwood and cinnamon myrtle. The name paying homage to the infamous Ribbon Gang bushrangers, whose members were hanged in Bathurst.
