Learn about Kanak culture, history and customs while viewing incredible architecture at the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, designed by renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano.

Take a day trip to picture-perfect Amédée Island, a true tropical paradise. It’s great for snorkelling and a climb up the lighthouse allows for wonderful sightseeing.

Get active by climbing to the top of Mont-Dore, which offers amazing views. A trip to and from the summit will take about four hours, so pack snacks and plenty of water.

La Coeur de Voh (The Heart of Voh) is a naturally formed mangrove formation in the shape of a heart. It can be seen from a walking track up Mt Kathépaïk at 400m altitude.

Le Parc Provincial de la Rivière Bleue is wonderful for a bike ride and to see local flora and fauna. You can also explore the park on the river by renting a kayak.
