WHERE’S THE BEAR?
In Melbourne during COVID-19, handcrafted spoon characters made by children and placed in miniature gardens called Spoonvilles popped up in nature strips (top right); a craze providing a sense of community and connection during lockdowns. Meanwhile, last year in cities around the world, children were encouraged to hunt for teddy bears. Inspired by the children’s book We’re Going On A Bear Hunt, people left various teddy bears on windowsills and other locations as a way to amuse children. This house on Sydney’s north shore (above) joined in on the fun with a collection of teddy bears and other furry friends at their window.
