MEET THE PLAYERS IN DEATH ON THE NILE

Kenneth Branagh

Also doubling as director, Branagh plays detective Hercule Poirot, who investigates the murder of a young heiress, in this latest adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile. He played Poirot in another Christie classic, 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express, alongside Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench and Johnny Depp.

Annette Bening

According to reports, Bening’s character Euphemia, a painter, is a new or adapted character not from the original story. Bening is one of Hollywood’s top actors with decades of stellar performances. She has been nominated for Oscars for such movies as The Kids Are All Right, Being Julia, American Beauty and The Grifters.

Jennifer Saunders

Saunders plays wealthy American spinster Marie Van Schuyler, who travels with her nurse Mrs Bowers (played by Dawn French). Saunders is well known for her role as Edina on Absolutely Fabulous, as well as being part of groundbreaking comedy duo French and Saunders with her Death on the Nile co-star, French.

Dawn French

French stars as Marie Van Schuyler’s nurse Mrs Bowers. French and Saunders last starred together in 2016’s Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie. Comedy royalty in the UK, French is known for her roles in The Vicar of Dibley, The Trouble With Maggie Cole, and movies such as Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

The Tiffany Diamond

The famed 128-carat Tiffany Diamond, made famous by Audrey Hepburn in a promo shot for Breakfast at Tiffany’s, will make a cameo in Death on the Nile, worn by Gal Gadot’s character. It was also worn by Lady Gaga when she won a music Oscar for A Star is Born, as well as by Beyoncé in an advertisement for Tiffany.
