TRUE STAR TREATMENT

With a flick of the wrist, I shut my Qsuite pod door as though I’m a rock star who must be left alone.

This sliding door, while only chest-high (attendants can still peer over the top to see what you’re up to), allows an unusual amount of privacy up the pointy end of my Qatar Airways aircraft.

The business-class pods are arranged in 1-2-1 fashion, with alternate seats facing backwards. Moveable privacy panels allow the central pods to be configured into an enviable double bed for couples or, even more astonishingly, four seats can become a sky-high cubbyhouse of sorts for families. Qsuite (available on select routes in four aircraft types) is so lush, so desirable that it’s no wonder Qatar Airways was awarded Skytrax’s 2021 World’s Best Business Class and Airline of the Year. Rock on.
