Research shows it can help ease anxiety and depression, and, in one study, scans showed that meditation improved communication in parts of the brain that maintain calm and focus. To get started, focus on a single point, like your breath. Then let it slip away so you can just be present. When your mind starts to wander to your to-do list, bring it back to that single point and begin again. Simple enough, right?
