Make it a mission to actually meditate this month. Research shows it can help ease anxiety and depression, and, in one study, scans showed that meditation improved communicat­ion in parts of the brain that maintain calm and focus. To get started, focus on a single point, like your breath. Then let it slip away so you can just be present. When your mind starts to wander to your to-do list, bring it back to that single point and begin again. Simple enough, right?
