FAST FASHION. THE DARK SIDES OF FASHION.
Originally conceptualized by the Hamburg Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in 2015, the exhibition, which is now in Berlin, raises awareness of the negative consequences of our fashion consumerism. The Museum Europäischer Kulturen splits these into two categories. The ‘Fast Fashion’ exhibition area outlines how the global fast fashion industry works and how producers and consumers are linked. In the ‘Slow Fashion’ area visitors then gain insights into Berlin’s fair fashion scene. The exhibition will be complemented by a series of talks, regular Repair Cafés and creative workshops that will run for the duration of the exhibition.
