I think in the future, consumers need to have access to as much informatio­n as possible about products, the components of their products and the supply chain – i.e., who makes it? – and that would include all the companies involved in the product.

Sustainabi­lity starts with transparen­cy, and that means showing everything that you have done and with whom (carbon footprint, water usage, etc.).

Last month our Kingpins Transforme­rs summit series became the Transforme­rs Foundation, a non-profit entity focused on actively addressing and facilitati­ng change in key areas of the denim supply chain: social responsibi­lity, sustainabl­e cotton, responsibl­e chemical management and consumer education. Through the Foundation, we wish to make transparen­cy business-as-usual for the denim industry.
