After celebrating 50 years in fashion and bidding farewell to the catwalks, Jean Paul Gaultier announced his new project via Instagram: every season, an external designer would be invited to “interpret the codes of the House” and co-direct its Haute Couture collections. The first collaboration will be with Chitose Abe (née Sakai) who worked with Rei Kawakubo and Junya Watanabe at Comme des Garçons before founding Sacai in 1999.
