LECAVALIER
In just a handful of years since her graduation, Canadian designer Marie-Ève LeCavalier has gone on to win the 2018 Chloé Prize at Hyères, been shortlisted for an LVMH prize, received a CAFA (Canadian Art & Fashion Award) for emerging talent and, more recently, been named as a finalist in the 2021 International Woolmark Prize.
Her S/S 19 collection, ‘Come Get Trippy with Us’, came defined by swirling, psychedelic prints, oversized silhouettes and upcycled denim, and quickly gained her international stockists from Selfridges to SSENSE. Nostalgia and storytelling are key to the brand’s identity, regularly citing inspirations from her childhood, such as her late grandfather, whose wrestling career inspired a range of statement belts for S/S 21. As the brand evolves, LeCavalier prides itself on impeccable craftsmanship, meticulous materials sourcing and a firm foot in sustainable production, with an ethos to create pieces that are both relevant and environmentally sustainable.
