STONE ISLAND
PROTOTYPE RESEARCH_SERIES
Stone Island presented its ‘Prototype Research_ Series_05’ at Milan Design Week, showcasing the brand’s latest innovations. This time, a trench coat is the central focus, made from Stone Island cotton Raso and bonded externally with a light, nonwoven fabric over which a nanometric copper layer has been deposited using the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) technique. The idea is to investigate the natural oxidation characteristics of copper in the atmospheric environment. That means each jacket will develop an aged appearance over time, depending on its use and exposure, creating unique pieces. stoneisland.com
