Start-up Carbonfact has launched the first database to list the carbon footprint of consumer products. Initially, the company will focus solely on stats for footwear, which are relatively easy to calculate. The data is provided either by brands or the Carbonfact community as part of a transparent process. In addition to the carbon footprint, users can also find out which materials have been used as well as the weight and manufacturing country.
