FIRST STORE IN THE METAVERSE
German online retailer herrenausstatter.de is planning to open a store in the metaverse this year. Visitors to the beta version can already choose an avatar, purchase selected goods, and have them delivered – without leaving the platform. Over the course of the year, the whole range will be digitalized in 3D. According to herrenausstatter.de founder Renata DePauli, avatars and 3D fashion should also work in other metaverses: “Interoperability is one of the essential cornerstones for a diverse metaverse landscape to succeed.” Cryptocurrencies will be accepted in addition to standard payment methods. meta.herrenausstatter.de
