Mother's Day is an unhappy time for Stella, who is approaching mid-life and is grieving the loss of her mother and her job. After reminiscing on the history of her larger-than-life mum, Stella looks to find the courage to believe her 'season for singing' has finally arrived. Lilian Simmonds was born and raised in Southern England. She trained as a Registered Nurse in North Devon and after marriage and kids, the family lived in Newfoundland and Wales before immigrating to Western Canada. During a hiatus from nursing, Lilian, a lifelong bookworm, discovered the joy of putting pen to paper and declares that writing fiction is the best therapy ever invented for dealing with childhood angst and the mid-life crisis.
