The Hidden Staircase

The Hidden Staircase (1930) is the second Nancy Drew Mystery Story, in which sixteen-year-old amateur detective Nancy Drew investigates strange "ghostly" happenings at The Mansion, the old stone home of two elderly sisters threatened by a miserly mortgage-holder, and uncovers a hidden staircase concealing the house's secrets. "Carolyn Keene" is a house pseudonym; this original text was written by Mildred Augustine Wirt Benson for the Stratemeyer Syndicate and illustrated by Russell H. Tandy.
