CUTTING IT THIN

- By Monda Rosenberg

Catch on to the joys of thin cuts of meat, especially on weekdays—they offer a fast and easy way to whip up delicious dinners.

Fast-fry, thinly sliced beef steaks and boneless pork chops are now front and centre in most supermarkets, and when prepared well they can leave you feeling very satisfied with 4 oz (125 g) of steak instead of one thicker 8-oz (250 g) steak. With rising meat prices, regular priced steaks no longer fit some budgets. Besides, Health Canada recommends 2½ oz (75 g) as a serving. The good news is you won’t feel cheated. The steaks may be thin but some are the size of a small dinner plate. Plus, we’ve added nutritious flavour-filled ingredients to our slim steaks that make for quick and easy entrées.
