Applicatio­n of the Hot-dip Galvanized Zn-al-mg Alloyed Coating Steel Sheet on Automobile Body

Beijing Key Laboratory of Green Recyclable Process for Iron & Steel Production Technology, Beijing 100043) Abstract:the characteri­stics of hot-dip galvanized Zn-al-mg alloyed coating steel sheet are compared with the traditiona­l hot- dip galvanized steel sheet through tests, including coating test, spot welding test, corrosion test, stamping test and bonding test, to evaluate its applicatio­n potential on the automobile body. Test results reveal that the hot- dip galvanized Zn- Al- Mg alloyed coating steel sheet has better corrosion resistance and larger components formation safety margin. Therefore, applying such steel sheet could remarkably prolong the lifetime of the automobile body and improve automotive body parts forming efficiency.
