Optimization Design of Material Selection for Thermoforming Parts of Commercial Vehicle Body
Abstract:to adapt to the upgrading of regulation concerning cargo truck cab strength, body reinforcement scheme using thermoformed steel is implemented on parts responsible for key mechanical transfer path of basic vehicle model. This optimization scheme is verified by simulation analysis. Total weight of the optimized BIW(BODY In White) is 252 kg, in which thermoformed parts weighing 32.5 kg, accounting for 12.9% of total weight. The prototype with the optimization scheme passes the homologation test, with cost and quality complying with target requirement.
