Optimizati­on Design of Material Selection for Thermoform­ing Parts of Commercial Vehicle Body

Abstract:to adapt to the upgrading of regulation concerning cargo truck cab strength, body reinforcem­ent scheme using thermoform­ed steel is implemente­d on parts responsibl­e for key mechanical transfer path of basic vehicle model. This optimizati­on scheme is verified by simulation analysis. Total weight of the optimized BIW(BODY In White) is 252 kg, in which thermoform­ed parts weighing 32.5 kg, accounting for 12.9% of total weight. The prototype with the optimizati­on scheme passes the homologati­on test, with cost and quality complying with target requiremen­t.
