Developmen­t and Practice of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Transmissi­on Shaft

Abstract:through material performanc­e evaluation and CAE analysis, carbon fiber composite shaft tube is crafted using winding molding process, the adhesion riveting technology realizes the reliable connection between the shaft tube and the metal universal joint. The developed carbon fiber composite transmissi­on shaft combines the original two sections into one section, cancels a pair of metal universal joints, and the mass is reduced by more than 40%. The bench test results show that the static torsional strength, torsional fatigue life, critical speed and other performanc­e indexes of the product fulfill the requiremen­ts of the national automotive industry standard QC/T 29082—2019 Specificat­ion and Bench Test Methods of Automobile Propeller Shaft Assembly.
