Author’s Note:

This story was written at a point in my life when I felt lost. My job was not ideal, and I hadn't accomplished much in writing. Clueless and directionless, I wanted to give up, to hide, but had nowhere to go. Perhaps the “lighthouse” is that perfect place to hide from reality—and, perhaps, so is writing itself.
