SIMONEZ, STYLIST

-

“My style is a mixed bag of influences. When I was a kid, my mother went to Asia often, and she’d bring back fake Lacoste tracksuits, which I couldn’t wait to put on. After I finished high school, I studied in London, where I discovered new wave, ska and reggae music. I also lived for 17 years in New York, where I was really into hip-hop and streetwear. All those things still influence my style today.”

?? ?? This is a Scottish wool beanie from Buchanan. I bought it in London at least 20 years ago. It’s a real classic, a good old granddad hat. Nothing special, but I’ll never part with it.
An ex-girlfriend gave me this sweater by Dries Van Noten. I really like its Peruvian vibe. Although I’m kind of surprised that he messed around designing something like this…
A Millet I got at the Marché aux Puces (flea market) in Paris. It reminds me of my teenage years, living in the suburbs. Everyone used to wear North Face in those days to keep warm in winter. I always believed the French brands could easily hold their own in comparison, and Millet is the best of its kind.
