www.shangri-la.com/island Even if the interiors feel slightly dated, the service and drinks at this Island Shangri-La favourite showed why it is still popular, even on a Sunday evening. The barman’s recommendation of The Hunter bought a balanced and not overly-sweet mix of Michter’s Bourbon, cherry and bitters. An Old Cuban used mint and lime to lift the mix of seven-year-old rum and champagne. Sliders from the nine-dish bar snacks menu were decent, but arancini were disappointing and flavourless. Service was attentive and friendly, and it’s clear that there is much care put into the classic cocktails and impressive wine list.
